Second time in 2011 I got to see Bruce and Grand Funk Railroad, this time close to home. (RAGBRAIfest, huge outdoor concert/party. RAGBRAI is a big bike-ride deal across the state, hence the name - http://ragbrai.com/about/ )
Anyways, got there early enough to get right next to the barricade on Bruce's side. Took tons of photos.......here's a few.

Now comes the good part......
After the show, the band left the stage, headed for the tour bus to get some food. There was a temporary barricade between "backstage" and the audience area, so I walked along that until I got near the front of the bus. I was standing there, talking to a couple of guys, when this roadie comes walking up from around the bus and right up to me.......tells me "Don't move, Bruce wants to talk to you". No problem...I was rooted! (The look on the faces of those guys was priceless.......)
Bruce comes up and I walk over....he hands me another bottle of water and his towel from the show (I had asked for it when he first came out to check his rig). (He told me I couldn't have his Explorer, though......I had also asked for that......). Anyways, he got the security guy to let me "backstage" and we went over to the bus. I was back there about an hour, yakking at all the band and stuff. Got them to sign another shirt I'd made for the show, too.
The bottle of water

The shirt front.....

.....and rear

(And gee......this "meet & greet" didn't cost me a freakin' thing beyond the ticket price......)
