The way Paul screams "Say Yeah" reminds me of the way he would belt out a song like I Want You...but then it immediately turns a corner and sounds like 80s KISS with the "I don't wanna hear ya might" part. Danger Us reminds me of a driving riff like Take Me. I agree with the 'blender' analogy. If the band had simply tried to remake Rock and Roll Over, I don't think it would've worked. It would've come across as too calculating. Sonic Boom doesn't sound exactly like Rock and Roll Over, but it does sound like that same band making an album thirty years later. I think that's why it's so successful.
