We usually try to use what KISS themselves have used in the past. This year we did something diplomatic...I chose one and Andrew chose one! My selection was
Cheap Trick's "Dream Police" and Andrew chose Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love". He told me that KISS actually used "Whole
Lotta Love" back in '77. I chose "Dream Police" because I really love Cheap Trick. It's pretty much that simple. We like to use songs
that we enjoy so that get us up just a bit before we begin the show.

Hi Rich!
Since performing all of the songs off "Hotter Than Hell" at the Indy expo, are there any songs from the album that you guys have decided to add to your playlist that wasn't on before, or possibly keep in "rotation"? By the way, you guys did an awesome show that day ... loved it!

We've been performing the usual tracks that everyone has come to expect from "HTH" like "Let Me Go..." and "Parasite" among
others. Of the rare tracks from the album we really haven't added anything to our normal show since performing them in Indy. To be honest, the only song
that has seen a steady rotation into our show from that set is "Tossin' and Turnin'". We played it last night and got a very good response
from the crowd.

I'm going to say "Silver". Sure, it was great growing up with "Live At Budokan" but "Silver" combines alot of the elements of
any great band into one package. There are lots of songs...they bring back previous members to play on tracks that they originally played on in the first
place...and it's live! Beyond that I really like the "Rockford" record from a few years back and of course "Budokan" is special as
well. I can remember being at a childhood friends house on Friday nights listening to records and "Budokan" was one that we had. I miss those
days...the innocence of it all and just loving music because it made you feel good.

Hi Rich! Firstly, we want to congratulate you guys on an incredibly successful 2009! We are very proud of you!
Question ... now that Mr. Speed's 2009 tour has concluded, can you give us a quick overview of your thoughts on this past year? Anything you can share with us as far as your hopes and plans for the 2010 tour? |

Karen,
Patience truly does pay off. 2009 saw us perform 27 shows for many, many fans. Taking risks is always something that brings an edge to your life and we did just that by adopting Andrew. With him on board we pushed ourselves further musically and thus became a much better band. Performing at Cadillac High School was the highlight of the year for us but that's not to say that the other shows weren't just as special. We improved our myspace page and ultimately did away with it. We then introduced a page on facebook that is still active. We produced our first promotional video in almost 15 years. We rehearsed and performed songs from KISS' new album Sonic Boom while introducing other songs from the KISS catalog. As for 2010, we hope to play even more shows than we did this year. We're taking a look at new stage props and costume ideas. We'll be returning to some familiar venues and hopefully get invited to places that we've never been before. We hope to continue to improve upon our entire show and give fans the best recreation that we can both visually and musically. |
