It's time to celebrate!
June is Mr. Speed's 15th anniversary of their incredible tribute to Kiss!
There are so many wonderful experiences that come to mind when talking about Mr. Speed. From dozens of performances at Kiss expos, jamming at their favorite haunts in the Ohio area, a concert in Puerto Rico, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to Cadillac, Michigan … and this is only to name just a very, very few!
For a couple of Mr. Speed's "career" highlights, one of my favorite memories that I hold close to my heart, as well as many other Mr. Speed fans, was that incredible moment that took place at the Kiss Coffeehouse's 1st Anniversary Party on June 16, 2007! Ace Frehley was there as a special guest for a meet-and-greet with fans, and after Mr. Speed's concert, Ace himself walked out onto the stage, thanked all the fans for coming to the coffeehouse, and then shouted that they were going to play a song together … "Shock Me"! Ace and Mr. Speed played that song like they had rehearsed it - but it was totally impromptu! To have performed this classic Kiss song with one of the original band members is something that other tribute bands have dreamed of … for Mr. Speed, it came true!
On November 1, 2008, another special moment for Mr. Speed took place when they were asked to perform at the "Monsters of Rock" Halloween Bash in Cadillac, Michigan. Cadillac is infamous for it's special guest who was invited to the city in October of 1975 - Kiss! Mr. Speed was the first Kiss tribute band to play in Cadillac since Kiss' visit in 1975, and it turned out to be an unforgettable weekend for them. Prior to their concert, they met with Jim Neff, who was the same man responsible for bringing Kiss to Cadillac. Jim gave them a tour of the area, a tour of the high school that Kiss performed their concert, and shared some special stories with them of his memories of that day in "Kisstory"! And Mr. Speed is returning to Cadillac on September 26, 2009!
Mr. Speed goes out of their way to make sure each fan is recognized and appreciated. From a photo with the band, autographs, or to answer questions from fans, they are always generous, professional, respectful and caring. These attributes are what make them stand out from the others. It is an honor to be a friend, a fan, and die-hard supporter of this band.
So Mr. Speed, as a small token of our deepest appreciation, we THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for the past 15 years of dedication in paying tribute to Kiss! We all love you for everything you do, and thank you for your time, energy, and friendship!
