Exactly! Infact, I don't even want to think about what it may or may not have sounded like with any other lineup. I am loving this lineup as is.

One thing I think that may have helped contribute to Sonic Boom being so great is the fact that both Eric and Tommy were fans of the band before they were members. What I mean is, they had the ability to do what so many of us here only wished we could do. Be a part of the creative process of making a KISS album. Be honest, how many of us on here have had thoughts in the past of "Gee, if only KISS would do this or if only I could contact KISS and get them to listen to my ideas! We've all had those thoughts before. Well Tommy and Eric actually got to do just that! They were fans first and they knew....as fans.....what makes KISS music sound good! When you are as close to it for so long as Paul and Gene have been, sometimes you tend to lose sight of certain things. Eric and Tommy were able to provide that "outsider's" perspective.
I've always said that the best thing about Tommy and Eric being in this band ( besides their talent as musicians) is that they were fans of the band first. They both grew up listening to KISS and because of that they both have this special love and respect of the band and the music.
