I agree that since this album does remind us of past albums, that is the key to its success.

And, I must add that Tommy's blistering solos on every song on the album is what makes this such a rocking record to me. MDD is clearly the best song on the album, and Gene's tunes haven't really grabbed me as much, but it's Tommy's playing that delivers each and every time. True, his leads are reminiscent of Ace's, but isn't that the Spaceman's role. Tommy does it extremely well, give him the credit he's due.
