While surely a #1 record is to be celebrated, the real kicker will be seeing how many cds total were sold in the first week.
Having a #1 cd these days isn't that hard to do. Back in the 80/90's (before illegal downloading) you had to sell anywhere from 600,000-900,000 to have a #1 out of the box. Some cd releases are hitting #1 now with only 100,000 or so these days.
The music industry is truly a different bird from what it used to be.

I hope in the long run this cd has legs to continue to sell over the next year with lots of promotion behind it.

End the end the guys delivered a great product that deserves to do well.
Not only this, Billboard has "genre-fied" their charts to within an inch of it's life. It's no longer just the Billboard top 100. You've got the Billboard Classic Rock Chart. The Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart. The Billboard Albums that are released on a Friday Chart. The Billboard Albums Released By an Artist With a Mustache Chart. It's ridiculous!

Debuting at #1 actually does not surprise me at all! Infact I expected it. The question is will it have legs? How quickly will it fall in the second week?!?
