Thayer said he loves the whole idea of Oshawa hosting this show - a reminder of how he saw the band for the first time when he was 14 back in his hometown of Portland, Ore.

"When I saw those Marshall amplifiers stacked up on stage I said this band is for me," he said.

Thayer replaced original guitar player Ace Frehley full-time in 2003 and he is having the time of his life. "I am in KISS," he says, adding he often pinches himself.

He said, who knows, but perhaps there will be fans like him whose dreams will come true tonight as well.

"You never know because dreams do come true if you put in some hard work for them," he said.

I love this last paragraph. I think that even after 7 yrs when the newness should have worn off by now I would also still be pinching myself in disbelief that it's real. It would be really cool if Tommy inspires some young future guitarist. That would just be the best thing ever to have some little kid go up to Tommy after a show and say "I want to play just like you when I grow up."!image
