Curiously, where did you get this picture and how did you get a copy of this interview? I remember hearing it live when Eric stopped by the station, then a few years later the same station broadcast a "memorial tribute" version of the interview, interspersed with new biographical stuff about Eric. Curious to learn more about what you know, I had friends who worked there back in the day, I might be able to provide more info. Thanks for the great photo!

The picture I got from eric-carr.info, but I removed the logo that was over top of them haha. As for the interview, I somehow found a copy of the entire memorial tribute online, including the songs they played, & was able to download it. I don't remember what site though. I just pieced together the interview part only so people could hear it since there isn't many audio interviews with him out there, just lots of written ones. That's very cool! I'd love to hear more about it, & you're welcome

I'd love to hear more about it, & you're welcome Thanks for the additional info, HMB! I can add to this that the guy in the photo is actually NOT Tony Mal (Tony being the guy who interviewed Eric and produced the Memorial Tribute). The guy in the photo is named Bob Rees, another of the other students/DJs on WCWP at the time. Tony was actually a long-haired blonde guy! I have a photo of him and Eric somewhere but can't find it right now. Tony originally broadcast the tribute live on the air a year after Eric died, then he went back and remastered the entire program to release it as a 2-tape box set in the late 1990s, issuing it in packaging that looked like an Eric Carr Kiss solo album. You can see it at places like KissFAQ.com, they have a scan. Apparently Tony commissioned the "solo face" artwork for that project since the original painting had not yet been located, which is why you see two versions of an Eric solo album cover floating around. The project was issued on 2 cassettes since the program was a bit too long to fit on 2 CDs, and when someone bootlegged the tribute on CD years later, they cut about 10 minutes of content from the program. I have the cassette original (bought at a Kiss con) and the CD version (bought on eBay) and you can tell there's stuff missing. Sadly, I hear that Tony is now dead too, having committed suicide in his early 40s after he lost the home he'd lived in since birth (along with everything he'd ever owned, since it was inside at the time). So sad, seemed like a really good guy, did such a cool thing for Eric. Tragic endings to both stories. Anyway, just wanted to share what I knew after seeing that photo! Thanks for the opportunity and info, HMB!
