Remind me to tell you about when I first heard about and then saw Bruce.........it's kind of a long story.

Ok, I had just heard on the radio that it was looking like Mark St. John may not work out with KISS because he suddenly had some sort of arthritis and his hands were swelling and he couldn't play for a while, so they were bringing in a "temporary" guitarist to fill in till he was better. Right after that I was in a store and saw an article in a magazine that pretty much confirmed what I had heard on the radio a few days before. The article even mentioned the name of the "temporary" replacement but when the mag was printed I guess the ink didn't dry good enough because the first name was smudged and all I could make out of it was the first letter which was B. The last name was clear and it was Kulick. At the time I knew of only one guitarist whose first name began with a B and his last name was Kulick, and that was Bob Kulick. So I was excited about this and was hoping to see him play with KISS because I knew he had worked with KISS before and with Paul on his solo album and with other people I liked.

Anyway, this was back when MTV was good and was actually showing videos. They also had the Saturday Night Concerts. And KISS had filmed one of their shows during the Animalize tour for this on MTV. And when Martha Quinn was talking about it she only mentioned that the new guitarist would be in the show but she never mentions his name. I was going to watch it but when it came on, I got to it a bit too late and I missed the intro where each member was in the letters of KISS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,with their names attached. I came into it just as Eric sat down at the drums just before the first song.

So I'm watching the show and talking to a friend on the phone at the same time, and Rhonda who is watching at her house too says, " That new guy is pretty good." I say "Yeah, he is, but I just have one question."........."Who the hell is he????" She says, "I thought you said you knew who he was." I say, " That is not Bob Kulick!!!" She says, "Are you sure?" I say "Yes, I'm sure." "Bob Kulick is a bald short guy with a mustache, I don't know who this guy is!!"

Then I found out a little bit later that he was Bruce Kulick, Bob's kid brother...............

Yeah, I know. But it still makes me feel bad after meeting Bruce back in 05.................And no, I didn't tell him about it.
