Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	As you all know, I am a diehard supporter of this band, and we have become close friends over the years. But once upon a time ... We first saw Mr. Speed on August 3, 2002 in Logansport, Indiana. Below is the flyer that was in our local paper that caught our eye! We hadn't seen a Kiss tribute band before, and decided to check them out. And so glad that we did! It was an outdoor concert, and that night was extremely muggy and humid! But despite feeling like they were going to melt right there on stage in their platform boots, they put on an awesome concert, and we were hooked! We met them after the show during their "meet and greet" with fans, and the friendship just grew from there on! I have collected a ton of stuff for my scrapbook since 2002, including lots of photos from expos, the Kiss Army Rally in Cleveland in 2006, newspaper articles, KOL articles, guitar pics, 1st Anniversary Party at the Kiss Coffeehouse, etc. Oh yeah, and a very cherished ticket stub for the very first time I went to see KISS on August 17, 2003! And I am actually starting to run out of room for all of my memorabilia! As their popularity has grown, so has my book! Anyway, just wanted to share this bit of personal insight behind the scrapbook of memories dedicated to my wonderful friends and favorite tribute band! That photo seems like a lifetime ago. So many things have changed since we did that photo shoot. Obviously, Joe and I are still together but Jim has gone on to join a local band in his hometown and regretfully Shawn passed away earlier this year. I do remember that night that we met and hot is really was. To be honest, it was 103* at show time! That was at 7:00 PM! Who says that MR.SPEED doesn't deliver and that KISS fans aren't the greatest in the world? Maybe you could share a different page from time to time and I'll do my best to offer insight for anyone that might care? Thanks again.

So the first Kiss expo we attended was October of 2002, about two months after meeting Mr. Speed for the first time. We saw that they were special guests, along with Eric Singer and made the trip to Indy to see them! So here are the photos we took of our boys with the guys and Eric! A little earlier in the day, as we were walking around outside of the ballroom where the expo was, we had a stroke of luck - we caught Eric in the lobby area of the hotel! He was talking with another person, and we waited until the right time to ask him for a pic with our boys. He told us that our youngest, Kevin, looked like a "mini me" of his older brother, Scott! We chatted with him for a couple of minutes, then he had to leave. I couldn't believe that we were actually talking to Eric!! So this was a very cool day for us, as this was our first attendance at an official Kiss expo! It was so great to see the guys again and as always, they closed out the expo with a rockin' show! I remember thinking how incredible it was to be so close to the stage with Mr. Speed being within arm's reach! It was definitely a more "intimate" setting than the outdoor festival in August and we were blown away! They appeared "larger than life" to me, towering above us in their make-up, platform boots, guitars, amps ... WOW!!

I'm afraid I didn't get as many pics (or they just didn't turn out) at this expo. The "Gene" in the middle pic is not the "Gene" with Mr. Speed. This was the expo which also was Bruce Kulick's "Transformer" debut! Next event we attended with Mr. Speed was the 2005 Indy Kiss Expo, which was a very fun weekend because it was a TWO DAY expo! There were a lot of special guests scheduled for the weekend: Bruce Kulick, Eric Singer, John Corabi, Stefan Adika and Eric Dover, and Mr. Speed! We didn't get photos taken of Eric and the other guys (although you'll see a pic of Rob with John Corabi below). But we did capture quite a bit with the video camera, including an acoustic set that Eric S., John, Stefan and Eric D. did on the first day, which was very cool! Rock 'n roll ain't noise pollution ... rock 'n roll ain't gonna die!

It's fun looking back on my scrapbook every now and then and to share it with all of you! I wish I had taken better "notes" of each expo's events so I can fill in more details, but going off of memory I guess I'm not doing too bad! The two-day expo was only a one time thing ... I don't think they've had one like that since. I would imagine that was a pretty expensive expo to put together - but it was awesome! Rob was really excited to meet John Corabi too. We met him again in 2006 at another expo (I'll be sharing that with all of you here soon). I have to admit I wasn't too sure who John at first, but when we heard he was going to be at the expo, Rob knew who he was right away and told me that John used to be the frontman for Motley Crue (love Motley Crue)! I truly do love these expos - I love spending time with the Mr. Speed crew, my KFS friends, and meeting new Kiss friends at these events. Just the fellowship and good times with everyone makes me very happy! Rock 'n roll ain't noise pollution ... rock 'n roll ain't gonna die!
